I have added a wish list to the website. I am always on the lookout for books and other resources relating to our units of study. I find most of my books on eBay or at Goodwill, but It is difficult to find enough books for all my students. I could use your help. Do you have books your child has outgrown or no longer wants? Since I have students from Kindergarten through fifth grade, I could use books at any reading level. We can also use yellow pencils and other classroom supplies. Please see the "Wish List" tab on the website. Thanks!
We have started our new oceans unit. The room looks so drab now that the museum has been removed. I have put up an ocean bulletin board, but we need some beach/ocean decorations to set the mood for our new unit. If you would like to send in something, be sure to label it with your child's name and class.
Students have received their assignment sheets for home projects that are due the week after Spring Break. Let me know if you have any questions about the assignment. I have books and other resources available for students to borrow, if needed. It is perfectly acceptable for families to help with projects, but please be sure the student maintains creative ownership of the process. Remember that space is limited in the trailer, and projects must be small enough to fit on one student desk. Would you like to contribute to the class? Please let me know if you have any skills or talents relating to our ocean theme that you would like to share. Our museum open house was a fabulous success! The classroom was transformed into a world-class museum filled with wondrous treasures of the ancient world. The costumes worn by student tour guides were spectacular. Be sure to see photos on this website. Kudos to all the student guides, parents, and enrichment students who contributed to the event. I believe all the parents enjoyed seeing the artifacts and were impressed with the students' knowledge of ancient civilizations. At the end of the evening the parents were subjected to a quiz...and they did very well! Our quiz show hostess was fantastic. Move over, Alex Trebek! |
